Located just one block from downtown Santa Ynez, the inn is within a short walk to everything including tasting rooms and some of the best restaurants and entertainment in the region. Forfriends Inn is situated only three miles from Solvang, four miles from Los Olivos, and a short, traffic-free drive to all of the wonderful wineries throughout the Valley.
Completed in 2005, ForFriends Inn was built in the fashion of a large Craftsman farmhouse and includes an adjacent two-story Water Tower Suite and a private cottage. Great care has been given to combine Wine Country and the New West with a touch of elegance, creating a perfect wine country getaway for couples and friends seeking a brief respite from their busy lives.
The seven rooms in the inn include five in the main house and two private cottages — The two-story Water Tower Suite and the Vaquero Cottage. All of the rooms offer a king-sized bed and are elegantly appointed, providing an array of personal touches, with all of the desirable amenities.
Every day at Forfriends Inn begins with a fantastic three-course breakfast, prepared with love by innkeeper Debbie. The fabulous meal includes many scrumptious homemade recipes like homemade granola, breads and an out-of-this-world egg dish that is sure to satisfy any appetite. After breakfast you're off to enjoy Santa Barbara Wine Country with a Friendship Pass given to you by ForFriends Inn at check in. The Friendship Pass entitles you to over $250 in complimentary wine tastings at over a dozen excellent wineries, and over $30 in free appetizers at local restaurants. After exploring the gorgeous Santa Ynez Valley, you'll enjoy wine, hors d'oeuvres and live music performed by innkeepers Dave and Jim during the festive happy hour from 5:00 to 6:30 in the floral Wine Garden or on the wraparound porch. Oftentimes many guests join in the musical fun by singing along and/or playing instruments.
After happy hour you can enjoy a short, leisurely walk to some of the Valley's best restaurants and entertainment, just steps away in downtown Santa Ynez (no need to drive). Later, your evenings can be spent lounging on the Inn's large wraparound front porch, strolling through the peaceful, lighted gardens or relaxing on a private balcony with wonderful views of the Valley, surrounding town and infinite stars above. Some folks prefer making new friends, enjoying a beverage, or reading a good book in the warmth of the large stone fireplace in the Inn's front room.
