Inn Policies

ForFriends Inn takes great pride in having established a uniquely comfortable and social environment for adults seeking a memorable getaway amidst the rolling hills, vineyards, and country charm of the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. We cherish our Inn and all of the guests who visit here and become our friends. The following Inn policies reflect our desire to meet guest expectations and to provide all of our friends with a memorable and pleasurable experience.

Meals: Your room rate includes Debbie's delicious homemade breakfast served in our dining room each morning from 8:30 – 10:00. We regret that we do not offer breakfast in the rooms. We are happy to accommodate any reasonable dietary requirements when provided with a 72 hour notification. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages are served each evening from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (6:30 on weekends) and are often accompanied by live music, games, socializing and fun. If you are vegetarian, vegan or have any allergies or other food requirements, please let us know in advance of your stay.

Reservations: All rooms must be guaranteed with a credit card, which will be charged for the first night's stay at time of booking. Posted rates do not include county bed taxes

Minimum Night Stays: We do require multi-night stays during certain times of the year. Weekends, Holidays and special events generally have multiple night stay requirements. Nonetheless, please call or check our availability online, since one-night stays are occasionally available.

Occupancy: Maximum of two adults per room and up to four per suite ($50 per extra guest). We regret that we cannot accommodate pets, and persons under 18 are generally happier elsewhere.

Handicap Access: Our first floor dining area, bathroom, porch and Maverick’s Corner are handicapped accessible. The guest room offers a separate, private entrance and a fully handicapped accessible bathroom. Please check its availability prior to booking.

Check-in Times: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Please call at least three hours in advance if you feel you cannot check in by 6:00 p.m. and we will arrange alternative accommodations for your entry. Please note that we do not have extra parking spaces for early arrivals. There is ample public parking next door and we will be happy to secure your luggage until check-in if you call in advance to confirm.

Checkout Time: Checkout is at 11:00 a.m. unless previously arranged. Extra fees may apply for late checkout. Please note that we do not have extra parking spaces for late checkouts, but there is ample public parking next door.

Cancellation: As a small inn dealing almost exclusively with advance reservations, date changes and cancellations affect us significantly — especially those made during special events, holidays. If you find it necessary to cancel, please call by 3:00 p.m. fourteen (14) days before your scheduled arrival date or your credit card will be charged for the amount of your entire stay unless we can rebook the entire inn. If we can rebook the entire inn for the same amount of time as your stay, you will only be charged a $35 service fee. A shortening of your stay is also deemed as a cancellation.

Groups: Groups of three or more rooms — whether booked as a whole group or individually — have a 60-day cancellation policy. Full payment is required in advance.

Privacy: Our intimate size requires that use of the guest rooms and suites are limited to registered guests only.

Pets: We love our pets, but love to keep them home when traveling. Please, no pets are allowed at the inn.

Smoking: We have a no smoking policy on our entire premises, including the rooms. If, however, you smoke in your room, you will be charged an additional night's rate, as the room will require a minimum of 24 hours airing. We also reserve the right to ask you to checkout immediately without refund.

Rooms and Building Damage: Unfortunately, due to the risk involved, we do not allow the use of candles, incense or anything else burnable anywhere inside the Inn. We cherish our inn and want it to be here for you for years to come. Abusive treatment to the rooms or any part of the ForFriends Inn will be assessed for damages, and those responsible may be charged accordingly.

Liability: ForFriends Inn is not responsible for the loss of any property, money or valuables. There are safes in each room and security cameras are used in some common areas. Keys not returned when you checkout will result in a $30 lost key charge.

Bikes: Please, bicycles are not allowed inside of the Inn or on balconies and porches. We happily provide secure bicycle storage on site when requested at time of booking. Bike, chain and derailleur cleaning service is available for a fee. See Innkeeper for rates.

Gift Certificates: We do not participate in any Gift Certificate programs other than certificates issued directly by the Inn.
