Inn Policies

ForFriends Inn takes great pride in having established a uniquely comfortable and social environment for adults seeking a memorable getaway amidst the rolling hills, vineyards, and country charm of the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. We cherish our Inn and all of the guests who visit here and become our friends. The following Inn policies reflect our desire to meet guest expectations and to provide all of our friends with a memorable and pleasurable experience.

Meals: Your room rate includes our delicious homemade breakfast served in our dining room each morning. We regret that we do not offer breakfast in the rooms. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages are served each evening and are often accompanied with friendly socializing. We are happy to accommodate any reasonable dietary requirements when provided with a 72 hour notification.

Reservations: A 50% deposit guaranteed with a current/valid credit card is required when booking. Posted rates do not include county bed taxes. (NOTE: Credit cards on file must be kept up to date and valid through the last day of the reservation)

Minimum Night Stays: We do require multi-night stays during certain times of the year. Weekends, Holidays and special events generally have multiple night stay requirements. Nonetheless, please call or check our availability online, since one-night stays are occasionally available.

Occupancy: Rates reflect a maximum of two persons per room. Select rooms can accommodate up to four persons with a charge of $50 per extra guest, per night.

Check-in Times: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Please call at least 24 hours in advance if you feel you cannot check in by 6:00 p.m. and we will arrange alternative accommodations for your entry (self check-in will require sending copy of driver's license). Please note that we do not have extra parking spaces for early arrivals or non guests. There is ample street parking next door.

Checkout Time: Checkout is at 11:00 a.m. unless previously arranged (Fee applied to reservation for unscheduled late checkout). Please note that we do not have extra parking spaces for late checkouts, but there is ample street parking next door.

Cancelations (Reservations of up to five room nights): There is a 100% refund (less a $35 service fee) if canceling before 3:00 p.m. more than 14 days prior to the check-in date. If canceling after 3:00 p.m. within 14 days of your stay, the remainder of your balance is collected and the room nights will be opened for rebooking. You will be refunded monies received for any new reservation(s), less a $35 service fee. A shortening of your stay is also deemed as a cancelation. Note: Reservations requiring six room nights or longer should refer to the Groups Cancelations policy.

Group Cancelations (Reservations requiring six or more room nights — whether booked as a whole group or individually): There is a 100% refund (less a $100 service fee) for cancelations more than 60 days before check-in date. If canceling after 3:00 p.m less than 60 days prior to the check-in date the remainder of your balance is collected and the room nights will be opened for rebooking. If the entire inn is rebooked for the same amount of time as your stay, you will be refunded monies received for any new reservation(s), less a $200 service fee. A shortening of your stay is also deemed as a cancelation. (NOTE: Credit cards on file must be kept up to date and valid through the last day of the reservation)

Pets: Regretfully we cannot accommodate pets.

Children: When minors are traveling with adults, we require each adult to agree, in writing prior to the stay, not to leave any minor 12 years of age or younger unattended at any time during their stay, and to control the minors’ behavior during their stay so as to preserve the peace and quiet of our other guests and to prevent any injury to any person and damage to any property (Civil Code Section 1865(d)). Refusal to sign such an agreement is grounds for refusing accommodations, and any failure to otherwise comply with this policy can result in eviction, with no refund of any money paid or owning in connection with the stay/reservation. Additionally, persons under 21 years of age are restricted from all common areas where alcohol is being served/consumed. Note: When booking online or over the phone, you must indicate you are traveling with minors so that there is ample time to email you this agreement to be signed and returned.

Handicap Access: Our first floor dining area, bathroom, porch and the Beckmen guest room are handicapped accessible. The guest room offers a separate, private entrance and a fully handicapped accessible bathroom. Please check its availability prior to booking.

Privacy: Our intimate size requires that use of the property — including common areas (interior and exterior), guest rooms and suites — are limited to registered guests only.

Smoking: We have a no smoking/vaping policy on our entire premises, including the rooms. If you smoke/vape in your room, you will be charged an additional night's rate, as the room will require a minimum of 24 hours airing. We also reserve the right to ask you to checkout immediately without refund.

Rooms and Building Damage: Apart from typical, necessary room make-up (linens, vacuuming, dusting, general cleanup), the rooms will be free of excess trash, food, clutter, dirty dishes and debris at checkout. Due to the risk involved, no candles, incense or anything else burnable are allowed anywhere. Abusive treatment of any property will be assessed for damages after the reservation, and will be charged accordingly to the credit card on file.

Liability: ForFriends Inn is not responsible for the loss of any property, money or valuables. There are safes in each room and security cameras are used in some common areas. Keys not returned when you checkout will result in a $30 lost key charge and/or locksmith fee.

Bikes: Please, bicycles are not allowed inside of the Inn or on balconies and porches. We happily provide secure bicycle storage on site when requested at time of booking.

Gift Certificates: We do not participate in any Gift Certificate programs other than certificates issued directly by the Inn.
